Abstract

An audio data coding method of requantizing digital audio data in accordance with the hearing sense characteristic of the human being, comprises: the steps of calculating a quantization error; calculating a level correction value from the calculated quantization error and a level of an input signal; and carrying out level correction of the digital audio data in accordance with the level correction value. In addition, there is provided an audio data coding apparatus for implementing the above-mentioned audio data coding method.
