Abstract
Printing plates that are to be attached to a plate cylinder are suspended by their leading edges on suspension edges of a shiftable plate preparation device. This device can be moved to a plate mounting position where it overlies a plate storage device that is integrated with an inking system protector. The printing plates can be removed from the plate preparation device and carried to the plate cylinder by a printing plate manipulating device.
