Abstract
A radio telecommunication apparatus sends signals to a base station for a first period over radio channels established by a time division multiple access (TDMA) system. The apparatus has a battery whose voltage decreases in response to consumption of the battery. The apparatus measures the voltage of the battery only during a second period other than the first period and determines a remaining energy of the battery in response to the measured voltage.
