Abstract
An inorganic composition comprises (A) 60 to 99% by weight of spherical inorganic oxide particles having a mean particle diameter greater than 0.1 .mu.m but not greater than 1 .mu.m, and (B) 40 to 1% by weight of inorganic oxide fine particles having a mean particle diameter not greater than 0.1 .mu.m, wherein a volume of micro pores due to strongly aggregated particles having pore diameters not smaller than 0.08 .mu.m is not greater than 0.1 cc per gram of the inorganic composition. The inorganic composition, when mixed with a polymerizable monomer and a catalyst, provides a composite useful for dental applications which has excellent surface smoothness, can be polished in a short time, exhibits improved bending strength, compressive strength, surface hardness and wear resistance and causes little wear on an antagonistic tooth.
