Abstract
A monoazo compound suitable for dyeing or printing materials having a hydroxy group and/or amide group represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein D represents a phenyl or naphthyl group; A represents a group represented by the following formula: ##STR2## or A represents a group represented by the following formula: ##STR3## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9, n and Y have the meaning given in the specification; and salts thereof.
