Abstract

A releasable buckle is provided having a male member and female member. The male member includes a base having first and second sides, an end surface therebetween, at least one resilient spring arm extending from the end surface and at least one portion adjacent the first side extending from the base. The female member includes a top and bottom wall and a channel disposed therebetween and an opening exposing the cavity for receiving the male member. The female member further includes means complimentary in shape and position to the portion for receiving the portion. The portion extending from the male member and the means for receiving the male member together constitute an interlocking key system which functions to distribute the stress from the loads to the top and bottom walls of the female member.
