Abstract

A method of enzymatic analysis utilizing a color-development signal amplification system associated with enzymatic cycling of NAD-NADH interconversion in the presence of dehydrogenase and its substrate, wherein the dehydrogenase is selected from the group consisting of alcohol dehydrogenase derived from Zymomonas and amino acid dehydrogenase derived from thermophilic microorganisms is disclosed. The use of alcohol dehydrogenase derived from Zymomonas provides an extremely higher detection sensitivity than that in the conventional method. The use of amino acid dehydrogenase derived from thermophilic microorganisms improves reliability of the method for a longer period of time than that in the conventional method.
