Abstract
The present invention provides a useful cosmetic having high ultraviolet-screening effects (sunscreening effects), and excellent safety, and giving a natural makeup finish. This composition comprises a metal oxide flake having an average thickness of from 0.01 to 3 .mu.m, and an average size of from 1 to 100 .mu.m, and a ultraviolet absorbent-encapsulated polymer resin particle obtained by polymerization of a polymer resin monomer uniformly mixed with an ultraviolet absorbent.
