Abstract

The invention provides a catalyst, and a process for preparing the same, for the catalytic reduction of NO.sub.x and for the oxidation of hydrocarbons. The catalyst contains a copper oxide-zinc oxide-aluminum oxide spinel and a zeolitic support material.
