Abstract
A non-aqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode-active material, a negative electrode material and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the negative electrode material comprises a boron-containing compound, in particular, a compound represented by the following general formula: SiB.sub.n (wherein n ranges from 3.2 to 6.6). The non-aqueous secondary battery ensures high safety and exhibits a high capacity and a high discharge voltage.
