Abstract

A thermal transfer sheet including a substrate film, a release layer provided on the substrate film and an ink layer provided on the release layer. The ink layer includes a colorant and a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin having a Tg of 60.degree. to 90.degree. C. and an average molecular weight of not less than 10,000. The release layer includes a material having at a high temperature, a low adhesion to plastic material and a low fluidity.
