Abstract
2',3'-Dideoxy purine nucleosides represented by following general formulae [I] and/or [II] ##STR1## (wherein X and Y indicate nitrogen atoms or carbon atoms and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 indicate each independently any of hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group, amino group, alkyl group, halogen atom, alkoxy group and mercapto group) are produced by bioconversion with strains of E. coli, K. pneumoniae and E. herbicola.
