Abstract

An emulsion of a polymer, in which the polymer comprises (a) a recurring unit derived from a (meth)acrylate and (b) a recurring unit derived from a vinyl compound having a group of --SO.sub.3 R in which R is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom or ammonium ion. The emulsion forms a film on an adherend to decrease the infiltration into the adherend, exhibits an adhesion force to a hydroxyapatite structure, a cement, a metal or a mineral when it is applied thereto to form a film by only drying around room temperature without washing it with water, and exhibits excellent affinity to a radical-polymerizable acrylic resin composition.
