Abstract

A silver halide color photographic material is disclosed, comrising a support provided thereon light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers including a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and a non-image forming layer which is located farther from the support than the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers and adjacent to one of the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, wherein a silver halide emulsion contained in the layer adjacent to the non-image forming layer is spectrally sensitized by adding a water-insoluble sensitizing dye in the form of solid particles dispersed in an aqueous medium; and the non-image forming layer contains a substantially light-insensitive silver halide fine grain emulsion having an average grain size of not more than 0.05 .mu.m and an average iodide content of 0.5 to 3.0 mol %.
