Abstract

Polyester resin compositions which are especially adapted for use in blow-molding or extrusion-molding of shaped hollow articles is a melt-blend of (A) polyester base resin, and (B) a styrenic copolymer having between 40 to 97% by weight of units derived from styrene, between 3 to 60% by weight of a glycidyl ester of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated acid, and optionally up to 50% by weight of units derived from an auxiliary vinylic comonomer other than styrene. The styrenic copolymer is preferably present in the compositions in an effective amount between 0.5 to 10 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the polyester base resin, sufficient to impart a melt tension of greater than 5.0 grams and a drawdown index of greater than 2.0 to the composition. The compositions may optionally contain up to 100 parts by weight (based on 100 parts by weight of the polyester base resin) of a fibrous, powdery or flaky filler material.
