Abstract
A method and apparatus for preventing current inrush upon the application of power to a load includes the steps of applying a first increasing DC voltage from a voltage source to the load through a negative temperature coefficient device having a first terminal coupled to the voltage source and a second terminal coupled to the load and after a preselected period of time, bypassing said first and second terminals via a bypass circuit and coupling the increasing voltage to the load through the bypass circuit.
