Abstract
A binary developer is composed of a carrier and a magnetic toner. The carrier consists of nonspherically formed magnetic particles having an average diameter of 5 to 100 .mu.m, preferably 5 to 50 .mu.m. The magnetic toner is formed to have an average particle diameter of 10 .mu.m or less and a saturated magnetization .sigma..sub.s of 50 emu/g or less.
