Abstract
Substituted imidazolyl-alkyl-piperazine and diazepine derivatives of Formula A: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, m, n and q are defined as in the specification, and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds have calcium entry blocking activity with selectivity for cerebral blood vessels, and have protective activity against some of the deleterious effects resultant upon cerebral ischemia.
