Abstract

The present invention provides an improved process for the production of triazoles of the formula: ##STR1## wherein Z is an optionally substituted (C.sub.6 -C.sub.10)aryl group; R is a hydrogen atom, a (C.sub.1 -C.sub.12)alkyl group, a (C.sub.3 -C.sub.8) cycloalkyl group, a (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl group, a (C.sub.5 -C.sub.8) cycloalkenyl group, a (C.sub.2 to C.sub.8)alkenyl group, an optionally substituted (C.sub.7 to C.sub.14)aralkyl group, a (C.sub.2 to C.sub.4)alkynoxy group, an optionally substituted (C.sub.6 to C.sub.10)aryloxy group or a hydroxy group;
