Abstract

A black laser dye-ablative recording element comprising a support having thereon a dye layer comprising a mixture of at least one cyan, magenta and yellow dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, said dye layer having an infrared-absorbing material associated therewith, said cyan dye having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, X, Y, J and m are as defined.
