Abstract
An m bit (where m is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2) digital data transmission format, using M (2.sup.m) expressible data values where L items of data included within K data items which start from the minimum value are inhibit codes, in such a manner that (N*m) bit (where N is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2) digital data Z is divided into N items of m bit digital data V1 to VN according to ##EQU1## so that digital depth data of 20 bits or more can be transmitted effectively using, for example, a 10 bit digital video data transmission format.
