Abstract
The invention relates to the cloning and sequencing of the nucleic acid coding for the human ACE as well as the determination of the peptide chain corresponding to the ACE and of active peptide fragments which derive from it. Another subject of the invention is the utilization of the above-mentioned polypeptides for the implementation of in vitro diagnostic methods for hypertension and for the design of new inhibitors of the ACE. The invention also relates to the utilization of the nucleotide probes of the invention for the in vitro screening of the polymorphisms of the gene coding for the ACE.
