Abstract
A facsimile apparatus incorporating a cordless telephone function includes a base unit for receiving and transmitting a signal to and from a remote unit via a radio signal, and a facsimile communication device. A reception signal detecting device within a NCU first makes the determination whether the reception signal transmitted through the telephone line includes a CNG signal representing facsimile communication. When determination is made that the reception signal includes a CNG signal, the telephone line is connected to the facsimile apparatus. When determination is made that a CNG signal is not included, the telephone line is connected to the base unit. According to the type of reception signal from the telephone line, the telephone line is connected to the facsimile apparatus or the cordless telephone set.
