Abstract

Control is performed for each of the individual components in accordance with a table including information on clock control and power control of each component of an information processing apparatus. Clock supply is stopped or clock frequency is lowered immediately or after the lapse of a predetermined period of time since the component is brought into an unused condition. Supply of power is stopped immediately or after the lapse of a predetermined period of time. In this case, the predetermined period of time can be automatically adjusted by detecting the condition of access to the component.
