Abstract

An ophthalmologic apparatus has an illuminating system for illuminating the fundus of an eye to be examined with infrared light from substantially the front of the eye to be examined through a pupil area, the illuminating system having a light source, and an image pickup camera for receiving infrared reflected light from the fundus of the eye to be examined illuminated by the illuminating system on an image pickup surface conjugate with the front eye part of the eye to be examined. The turbid state of the light transmitting body portion of the eye to be examined can be ascertained by the image output from the image pickup camera.
