Abstract

An ink composition, varnish and method in which the composition and varnish includes reduced levels of petroleum solvents, while retaining beneficial ink properties. The invention also relates to a method of making an ink composition and varnish including a cook cycle which minimizes or eliminates esterification and other reactions involving functional components of the composition and varnish.
