Abstract
A process for producing high Mg content Al-Mg alloy sheet for press forming having a high tensile strength and formability. The maximum grain diameter of the alloy slab is less than 1000 .mu.m. The process consists of the steps of forming the slab, homogenizing, hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing. The composition of the alloy is disclosed as having the elements of Al, Mg, Be, B, Cu, Ti, Si as major components, the balance being inevitable impurities.
