Abstract
A process for production of an exogenous gene or its product in a plant cell which comprises: inserting into a genome of a plant; a) cDNA of replicase gene from RNA plant virus, and b) cDNA of a recombinant virus genomic RNA in which nucleotide moiety at and after ATG downstream from the original translation initiation codon (the first ATG counted from the 5'-end) in the cDNA of coat protein gene is replaced with a desired exogenous gene; or inoculating a plant cell including cDNA of replicase gene of a plant virus with synthesized RNA synthesized from the cDNA of recombinant virus genomic RNA.
