Abstract

A method and apparatus for recording electrocardiogram information, in which ST deviation can readily be visualized and ischemia can be diagnosed with ease at the same time. Compressed recorded waveforms of electrocardiogram waveforms are partitioned and recorded as compressed waveforms of a plurality of lines in a first recording area of a recording paper for recording electrocardiogram information. A predetermined number of lines of the recorded compressed electrocardiogram waveforms in the first recording area are selected in a second recording area neighboring the first recording area, the selected waveforms are superimposed in synchronism with a predetermined characteristic point of the selected waveforms, and the waveforms are recorded while changing location in the area neighboring the predetermined lines of the first recording area. An HR graph and an ST-trend graph of the electrocardiogram waveforms recorded in the first recording area are recorded in recording lines approximately perpendicular to the recording lines of the compressed electrocardiogram waveforms from a position of a recording starting line of the compressed electrocardiogram waveforms of the first recording area.
