Abstract

A charge control agent for positive charging whose active ingredient is a salt-forming compound represented by the following formula and a positively chargeable toner for developing electrostatic images comprising at least one kind of the charge control agent, a coloring agent and a resin. ##STR1## wherein X represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, or --COR.sup.5 in which R.sup.5 is a lower alkyl group; Z represents a hydrogen, a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group; R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms or a benzyl group; R.sup.2 represents an alkyl group having 5 to 18 carbon atoms; and R.sup.4 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a benzyl group.
