Abstract

A process for the preparation of 8-N,N-dialkylaminotricyclo[5.2.1.0.sup.2,6 ]decane by reaction of tricyclo[5.2.1.0.sup.2,6 ]decan-8(9)-one with an amine of the formula HNR.sub.1 R.sub.2, where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, in the presence of hydrogen and a platinum-containing supported catalyst, preferably at elevated pressure and elevated temperature.
