Abstract
A sliding member comprising a fluorine resin and carbon fibers treated with a fluorine-containing silane modifying agent represented by the formula R.sup.1 -SiX.sub.3 wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a part or the whole of the hydrogen atoms of which are replaced with fluorine atoms and X represents a hydrolyzable group or a chlorine atom.
