Abstract

A depigmenting cosmetic or dermatological composition containing, as active ingredient, at least one di- or tri-caffeoylquinic acid corresponding to general formula (I): ##STR1## in which: R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 represent a hydrogen atom or the CAF radical corresponding to the formula: ##STR2## provided that at least two, and at most three, of the R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 radicals represent the CAF radical, but excluding R.sub.1 and R.sub.4 as representing the CAF radical and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 as representing a hydrogen atom, or a mixture of said caffeoylquinic acids.
