Process for the treatment of painful syndromes, especially local and/or visceral, consisting in the parenteral or topical administration of a therapeutically effective quantity of the (-) tartrate of (+)-(R)-1-[(3,4,5-trimethoxy)benzyloxymethyl]-1-phenyl-N,N-dimethyl-n-prop ylamine.
