Abstract

An electrophotographic photosensitive member has an electroconductive support, a photosensitive layer, and a protection layer in named order. The protection layer contains a binder resin and a particulate electroconductive material. The particulate electroconductive material has been treated for adhesion of a siloxane compound represented by Formula (1) and subsequently is heat-treated at a temperature of not lower than 120.degree. C.
