Abstract

There is disclosed a cyan dye-forming coupler represented by the following formula (I) and a silver halide color photographic material containing the same: formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, Y represents a group capable of substitution onto a benzene ring, Z represents a group capable of substitution onto a naphthalene ring, X represents a hydrogen atom or a coupling-off group, m is an integer of 0 to 4, and n is an integer of 0 to 4.
