Abstract
Disclosed herein are derivatives of Streptolysin 0 produced by recombinant DNA techniques. In an embodiment, the derivative is soluble upon expression and has a specific hemolytic activity of about 3.6.times.10.sup.4 hemolytic units per milligram.
