Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the stereoselective preparation of .beta.-L-fucopyranosyl phosphates via the trichloroacetimidates of protected L-fucose and the synthesis and purification of very pure GDP-fucose from the .beta.-L-fucopyranosyl phosphates.
