Abstract
A process for preparing .beta.-naphthyl benzyl ether comprises reacting .beta.-naphthol essentially in the absence of water with an alkali metal carbonate or an alkaline earth metal carbonate and benzyl chloride in an inert water-miscible solvent at from 0.degree. to 200.degree. C.
