Abstract
A water-borne low adhesion backsize and release coating latex composition comprising: (a) about 5 to about 70 weight percent of a polymer comprising polymerized free radically polymerizable monomer of the formula C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 --Y--C.sub.m H.sub.2m --X--CR.sup.1 .dbd.CH.sub.2 wherein n is an integer of about 12 to about 20, Y is a divalent polar linking group, X is a divalent linking group selected from the group consisting of ##STR1## m is an integer of about 2 to about 10, and R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of --H and --CH.sub.3, (b) about 30 to about 95 weight percent of an aqueous phase, and (c) about 0.05 to about 4 weight percent of an emulsifier, wherein particles of the polymer are stabilized by the emulsifier and dispersed within the aqueous phase. A method of making the latex and sheet materials coated therewith.
