Abstract

Photopolymerizable grafted polyvinyl alcohols including groups of formula ##STR1## wherein n represents zero or an integer from 1 to 6, m represents zero or 1 (with the proviso that m represents zero when n represents zero), Z together with the nitrogen and carbon atoms to which they are attached represent a heterocyclic ring optionally fused to one or more benzenoid or heterocyclic rings, X.sup.- represents an anion, R' represents an alkyl group, and p represents an integer from 1 to 4. Compositions containing such grafted polyvinyl alcohols, for example for screen printing stencils, have shown high sensitivity to light.
