Salient embodiments comprise magnetic recording sliders whose record-confronting face is characterized by two or three rails wherein stiction forces are counter-acted by provision of a 'boss' on one or several rails, or therebetween; and also characterized by provision of a 'back-bar' and associated a purge channel; and methods for rendering such are also described.
