Abstract
An image signal processing device having a frame memory which includes a first-field storage area for storing a first-field image signal and a second-field storage area for storing a second-field image signal and is capable of storing an image signal for one frame is arranged to cause the frame memory to store the image signal for one frame by every field in separate storage areas, and, after that, in reading out the second-field image signal included in the image signal for one frame stored in the frame memory, to temporarily store in the first-field storage area the second-field image signal which has been stored in the second-field storage area, and then read out the second-field image signal. This arrangement enables the device to efficiently use the memory and to stably output the image signal without any image turbulence. The arrangement thus enhances the operability of the device.
