Abstract
The present invention relates to preparation of imidazoles which are useful as pharmaceutical and agricultural chemicals. Specifically, the present invention relates to a process for preparing imidazoles of the formula (I): ##STR1## which comprises conducting condensation among an .alpha.,.alpha.-dihaloaldehyde compound of the formula (II): ##STR2## an aldehyde compound of the formula: R.sup.2 --CHO and aqueous ammonia.
