Abstract

End faces of copper alloys to be used for electrical conductors are placed in contacting relationship under a compressive force below the yield strength of the copper alloy conductor in the room temperature condition. The contacting end faces are heated under continuous compression at a temperature of at least 300.degree. C. but below the solvus temperature of the copper alloy in at least one heating cycle.
