Abstract

Process for the preparation of alkyl 3-oxo-2-pentyl-1-cyclopentene acetates starting from an epoxy-ester of formula ##STR1## wherein R designates a lower linear or branched alkyl radical of C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 and wherein the wavy line stands for a C--C bond of cis or trans configuration via an isomerization process.
