Abstract

Novel 3-picoline-N-oxides of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of each other are hydrogen or halogen, R.sub.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, n is the number two or three, and Y is nitrogen or the methine group, can be used as pesticides. Especially insects are controlled.
