Compounds of general formula I: ##STR1## Wherein: R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are variables. These compounds have collagenase inhibition activity and are useful in the management of disease involving collagen degradation. Its uses include rheumatoide arthritis, corneal ulceration, osteoporosis, periodontitis, gingivitis and tumour invasion.
