Abstract
An improved process for preparing carboxylated 2-allyl-phenols of general formula (I): ##STR1## is disclosed, which consists of a first step of simultaneous esterification and etherification of a carboxylated phenol, subsequent rearrangement of the resulting product to yield allyl-carboxylated allyl-phenol and end saponification of the latter into carboxylated 2-allyl-phenol.
