Abstract

A method for the treatment of dementia and cerebrovascular disorders and for inhibiting platelet aggregation in patients in need thereof comprising the step of administering a therapeutically effective amount of a 1-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-1-phenylphthalane of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each are selected from the group consisting of halogen, trifluoromethyl, cyano and R--CO--, wherein R is an alkyl radical, or a pharmaceutically-acceptable acid addition salt thereof, is described.
